2pac Ft Notorious BIG - Runnin

This video mostly shows the studio. The rappers in the song are dead. I like the idea where the mic is on fire and the fir dies out. The way the equalisers are turned up when the chorus comes or when biggie or tupac start to rap. alot of old videos are shown of their performances.

Lowkey - Obamanation

This is an artist who i have done a lot of research into. He raps about very serious topics and this video was banned because of his views on war. i really like the colours used and the editing style. It seems that Low key is less focussed on his image and more on his message. Although i think my artist being young would need to focus on his image more and selling himself. 

Shooting for hours

I have had to re-film the end bit of the video because it is important for me to show the character taking his hood off when he goes to visit the memorial of his father. When he takes his hood off it tells the audience that he is showing respect and also to show a change in him.
 The hood is to signify his bad/ negative life and taking it down shows that he is changing. I wanted it to be daytime when he does this as daytime also signifies a 'new start'. It was very hard t get hold of my actor during in the day as he is at college, then i had to also plan the outfit and bring the jackets along.
i also filmed the time lapse scene to show the movement of time between the night scene and the day scene. this took ages and involved staying out most of the night in the cold. i took a warm jacket and a few friends to keep me company. This was worth it though as when i uploaded it and sped it up- it looks really good! I think its going to be the best part of my video.

2pac ft Elton John - Ghetto gospel

Here is a video that has a strong narrative that I have looked at. The narrative is linked with the song and this is a feature which i have used. I can see that many artists use these features, especially when they are rapping about serious topics.

Shooting Day Seven

I went out and recorded the narrative part of the story at last. 
I have decided to use another person for the narrative instead of the rapper. So I finally found a friend to star in the video. This has caused me a lot of problems as it is very hard finding someone so late into the production. Ive  already had to change the whole narrative because i couldnt get a girl/ female as in my first initial ideas, and now after shooting hours of the artist himself i can see that with him in the narrative sequence it will be too much. This is quite annoying as i have shot some of him in the narrative already. But hey i will just have to start again. it is very hard working alone as there is noone to consult about these decisions.
